Welcome to the home of Price Cold Storage & Packing Co., Inc. We are a grower-packer-shipper of apples, pears, and cherries. Our packing facility is located in Yakima, Washington which is centrally located in Washington State for easy access to our company-owned orchards and grower base. Our fruit is grown from North Central Washington to the southern borders of the state.
Mission Statement
We are in the business to produce and market fresh fruit products. We will be the industry leader in food safety, quality, service, and innovation seeking best-in-class profits, grower returns, and employee welfare.
Company History
In 1935, Jack Price started Price Distributing Co. as an export company. His primary focus was exporting apples and pears to Europe. Throughout the following years he developed domestic business and had numerous connections with key people in some of the larger cities in the US. In 1950, Jack Price acquired Gleed Cold Storage and Packing Company. Shortly thereafter he passed away and his son Harry Price left college to come home and run the operation. In 1961, the entity incorporated as Price Cold Storage & Packing Co., Inc. Harry Price passed away in 1981 and his son Robert (Bob) Price took over as the third generation president, a position he continues to serve today. In 2018, Bob welcomed his son, Tyler, to the family business. Tyler currently serves as the company’s CEO and fourth generation leader..

Growing
Price's owned orchards are geographically diversified across central Washington and include a wide range of apple, pear, and cherry varieties. We are constantly growing and updating our orchard portfolio to best reflect consumer preferences.
packing
Price packs its own fruit and fruit for its carefully selected grower base. We pride ourselves on leveraging the latest fruit packing technology to maximize efficiency and grower returns. Price opened a new state-of-the-art packing facility in the summer of 2023.
ORchard management
Price Management LLC. manages orchards for outside investors. We provide record keeping services including budgeting, payroll, banking, bill paying, accounting, and food safety & regulatory compliance services. We provide owners with the tools to make timely and competent decisions concerning their properties.
Food Safety
Price Cold Storage strives to be an industry leader in food safety, from the tree to box. The company is audited by multiple third-party auditing firms each year to verify that we are not only meeting but exceeding GMP, GAP, and HACCP guidelines.
Sales
For the first 69 years of the company's existence, Price Cold Storage sold and marketed its own fruit. In 2004, we merged our sales operation with Rainier Fruit Co. The partnership has proven to be successful in all aspects of the business including growing, production, food safety, sustainability, and communications with our growers and customers. We are proud to be part of the Rainier Group, one of the largest sales organizations in Washington.
